Hendrik Antonij Ernst was from in Hanover at his marriage.1 He married (NH) Janna Meijer, daughter of Johannes Meijer, on 3 Jul 1740 in Almelo1 (banns (NH) 29 May 1740, Almelo.)1 He died a 1788, because he makes a will.5

Hendrik Antonij Ernst and Johanna Meijers with her guardian Secr. D. J. Lamberts made a will on 30 Jun 1788. They rescind all their previous wills. They name each other as sole heir. They leave in advance to their daughter Anna Else Ernst all of the sewing store and its inventory. They leave in advance to their eldest son Johan Leonard Ernst both houses and the garden across from the Windmill, ikn which testators are living, between the house of Abraham Wanschers and the water, and also all the silversmith's tools, with the understanding that the daughter Anna Else Ernst as long as she lives can live in the house rentfree, and Johan Leonard Ernst has to help his sister Anna Else Ernst with the bookkeeping and sending of goods. Johan Leonard Ernst shall pay after the death of testators ƒ18000.- to his brother Fredrik August Ernst (he may do this in 3 half-yearly payments), because he gets the housesn the garden and the silversmith's store. They leave in advance to their aforementioned 2 sons all they already have received at their marriage, except the money they have borrowed, which will have to be counted in the estate, and divided into ê equal parts. The 3 aforementioned children are sole heirs. The estate will be divided in 3 equal parts, and the furniture and the woollen and linen clothes shall be divided among them, they are not allowed to sell then a a public auction. After the death of Anna Else Ernst her portion will go to Johan Leonard Ernst, or if he predeceases her to his children, with the understanding that Johan Leonard Ernst has to pay his brother Fredrik August Ernst ƒ500.- in 2 half-yearly payments. If through circumstances the whole or the greatest part of her possessions would be lost, the eldest son will not have to make the ƒ500.- payment. If one of the children does not approve of this arrangement, they will just get their legal portion.5

Gerrijt ter Braake, and his wife Berendje ten Bruggencate conveyed to Hendrik Antonij Ernst, and his wife Johanna Meijers and heirs, their house and yard, between the house of Stoffer Voerknegt and the children of Gerrit Voerknegt and that of the widow of Jan Arents Hagedoorn, with the pigsty at the Graven, with the right to the outhouse.6

Hendrik Antonij Ernst, and his wife Johanna Meijers took out a mortgage with Everwijn Warners, and his wife Jenneken ten Cate and heirs, with as collateral their house and yard, next to the house of Stoffer Voerknegt and the children of Gerrit Voerknegt and that of the widow of Jan Arents Hagedoorn.7
Stadsgericht, Almelo, 30 Sep 1775:
Maria Christina Schmaal, separated wife of Hendrik Rompelman, with her guardian Dr. E. Dull takes out a loan with the silversmith Anthonij Ernst, for which she gives as collateral her furniture, clothes and gold and silver, which she has sold today to forementioned Anthonij Ernst for the sum of ƒ250.- , and she gets these goods immediately back in loan. The loan was paid of on 1 Aug 1778.3
