Egbert van het Schotvelt was from in Heerlijkheid Almelo at his marriage.1 He married (NH) Aaltjen van Ibbenhorst, daughter of Hendrik van de Ibbenhorst, on 16 Dec 1746 in Almelo1,4 (banns (NH) 19 Nov 1746, Almelo.)1 He died b 5 Feb 1749, because his wife was a widow at Enne's baptism.3,4

According to the Genealogy of Jan Schotveld by J. Mulderij & D.J. Scholte in't Hoff Egbert and Abraham are brothers. Egbert cannot be born after 1731 (the date of Jan's marriage to Maria, who is probably the mother of Abraham), as he himself marries in 1746. Egbert could be a halfbrother of Abraham, but Mulderij & Scholte in't Hoff offer no proof for the relationship6. In the census of 1748 Egbert lives, with wife and two children (Hendrik and Arent the mute) with his father Jan (no wife mentioned), and Hendrika, the sister in 't Gericht.
