Geert ten Bruggencate was born b 1617, as otherwise he is too young for the marriage and for his role in the courtrecords.7 He married Fenna Meijers, daughter of Johan Meijer and Jenneken Schulten, b 1642.2,8 He died bet 1671 - 1674 in Almelo.2,9

He was innkeeper. In 1662 a house sale is finalized in the house of Geert ten Bruggencate, and the tab for the wine is 14 Car. guilders. Apparently it was the custom to celebrate the sale of a house in this fashion.10
Dossier tB (2) and the van Rijn collection have Herman ten Bruggencate as son of Geert ten Bruggencate and Fenne Meijers; but most other sources have him as son of Lambert.11,12,13,14 He gives 10 guilders for repairs to the school in Almelo c 1659.15 He was mentioned in the will of Johan Meijer on 6 Apr 1670.16,17

Geert ten Bruggencotte and his brothers are asked why they are suing. Jan Harmsen ten Bruggencate replied, also for his brothers.2

Geert ten Bruggencate declares to have received 12 car. gld from his brother-in-law Arent Levelt.20
Stad Almelo, 24 Jun 1667:
Jan Harmsen ten Bruggencate impounded the estate that Geert ten Bruggencate had inherited from the late Stijnken ten Bruggencaet.21

Geert ten Bruggencate, and his wife Fenna Meijers conveyed to Frerick Derxen Becker, and his wife Aele, their garden (within Wigbolts), between the garden of Wolter Baarschers and that of Mr Jan Hilgerinck.22,23

Geert ten Bruggencate, and his wife Fenna Meijers conveyed to Johan Altinck, a house in the Hofcamp, in which Jan ter Hammink is now living.24
Stadsgericht, Almelo, 13 Jan 1669:
Geert ten Bruggencate, and his wife Fenna Meijers conveyed to Jan ten Bruchenkotte, the part that is owed them from the house of his late parents Harmen ten Bruggencate and Stijnken, standing within the town's Wigbolt. Geert ten Bruggencate and Fenna declare that Jan ten Bruchenkotte and his wife Marijken have paid them in full.25,3

Geert ten Bruggencate and his brothers Wolter ten Bruggencate and Jan Harmsen ten Bruggencate, petition to finish the case against Lambert Kolmschot.2,26

Frederik Derk Bakker, husband of Aele ten Bruggencate puts a lien on the estate of Geert ten Bruggencate.2
