     Gerrit Schoemacker was born in 1625 in Almelo.1 He married Maria Vonk on 8 Sep 1647 in Amsterdam (She was b. 1629 in Amsterdam, daughter of Pieter Nicolaaszoon Vonk, from Lubeck, and Catalijntje Willemsdg van Dikkelen, b. Haarlem.)1
Gerrit had five children. The youngest son Andries was a famous numismatist and the author of the "Atlas of Schoemaker," a collection of topographical drawings and maps.
