     Jannes ten Cate was from in Almelo at his marriage.1 He married (NH) Judith ten Cate, daughter of Hendrik Gerritsen ten Cate and Stijntjen Tielemans, on 6 Feb 1724 in Almelo1 (banns (NH) 9 Jan 1724, Almelo.)1 He died in Feb 1784 in Almelo.4

Johannes ten Cate and Judith ten Cate with her guardian Dr. J. W. Racer made a will on 4 Dec 1771. They name each other as heir. Testator leaves ƒ2500.- to his brother Harmen ten Cate. Testatrix names as sole heir her brothers Hendrik ten Cate Sr and Thomas ten Cate. She leaves to her husband Johannes ten Cate (also names Jannes ten Cate) her part in their half farm, named 'Zeggers' in Aselo in Delden.5 He presented Judith ten Cate's will for probate on 13 Feb 1773.5

Lambert Levelt, hun huis en weehre, gelegen tussen het huis van Gerrit ten Bruggencate (sic!) en dat van Jan Noordijk took out a mortgage with Jannes ten Cate, and his wife Berentjen ter Brugge, with as collateral and his wife Judith ten Cate.7
