     Jan Harmsen ter Schothorst was from in Almelo at his marriage.1 He (1) married Aaltje Arents.2,1 He (2) married Grietjen Geerts1 (banns (NH) 29 Nov 1693, Almelo)1 They went with certificate to Vriezenveen.1 He died b 1699, because his wife was a widow at 2nd marriage.3

Jan ten Schothorst and Aele Arents with her guardian Henrik Hinsenvelt made a will on 29 Jan 1680. They name each other sole heir. They give a bed with a blanket to a Willemtien Jorriens (possibly Willemtjen Jorritsen or Wilmtjen Jorritsen). Should the surviving spouse remarry, the family of the deceased will get 100 car. gld.2

Joan Swam took out a mortgage with Jan ten Schothorst and his wife Aele Arents, with as collateral his house and yard, between the house of Lambert Colmschot and that of J. Jorriense.4
