His parents were Jacobus van Laere and Maria Theresia Biscop.2 Hippolijtus van Laere and Louise Van Laere immigrated on the Lapland, from Antwerp (7 May 1910), arriving 16 May 1910 in New York. Their son Maurice Van Laere is with them. They list his brother T. van Laere as contact in Sas van Gent. They are going to a friend Jan (or Joe) Schiele (or Schenk?), in Lodi, NJ.1,4
