Oskar Hiemstra was born in 1868 in Friesland, The Netherlands.1 He married (1) Jennie Hiemstra in 1904.2,3 Oskar Hiemstra married (2) Johanna Wiegel in 1934 in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey.1 Oskar Hiemstra died on 14 July 1944 in 7-20 Bergen Ave, Fair Lawn, Bergen County, New Jersey.1 He was buried in Fair Lawn (Fair Lawn Cemetery.)1

Oskar Hiemstra immigrated in 1894.2 He was a dairy farmer. He advertised "Cows for Sale" in the "Telegraaf" on 3 December 1917. The farm was located on 22 Totowa Road, the first farm, from where the Totowa trolley stops.4,2
