  • Was Barend Kosters possibly the father of Maria Costers? Maria's father living in 1699, Barend in 1730. Both Maria and Berend's son Thomas have a daughter Fokkelina.
     Barend Kosters died a 1730, because he lends money in 17303 He probably died before 1733, as Lambert Boom at that time gets a mortgage from Barend's son Thomas, with the same collateral.4

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 28 Jun 1713:
Hertog Abrahams took out a mortgage with Barend Kosters and heirs, with as collateral his house and yard, between the house of Harmen ten Cate and the shed of Gerrit Hulst. His sons, Jacob Hertog and Joseph Hertog were present. His wife Eva Meijers signs the mortgage on 13 Apr 1714.5

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 18 Feb 1730:
Lambert Boom, and Geertjen Hagedoorn took out a mortgage with Baerent Kosters, with as collateral their house and yard, next to the brewhouse of Ds. Revius, in which they are now living. Her brother Hendrik Hagedoorn and brother-in-law Gerrit Wolters Nijland had offered security, and the collateral was offered to thewidow of Hendrik Hagedoorn and Gerrit Wolters Nijland and his wife Johanna Hendriksen Boom.3
