     Jan Harmsen was born in 1632.1 He died a 1691, because he was living at the time of Geertje's marriage.2

Jan Harmsen and his sisters Geese Hermsen, Griete Harmsen and Trijntje Harmsen sued Jan Harmsen ten Bruggencate and his brothers and sister Wolter ten Bruggencate and Geert ten Bruggencate over the Weijdekamp.1,3

Jan Harmsen is the father of Herman and Geertjen Jansen ten Bruggencate; a Harmen ten Bruggencate borrows money in 1668, and the house used as security is located nex to the house of Jan then Caete. When the children of Jan then Caete one months later transfer this house to their brother, one of the neighboring properties is that of the late Jan Harms. At the marriage of Jan Harmsen's daughter Geertje is however not mentioned that her father is deceased.
