Henri Broekman was first merchant in fabrics, later translator.1
They lived at various addresses in Amsterdam: Zeilstraat 11 apt. 1, Noorder Amstellaan 43 apt. III, Roerstraat 99, Okeghemstraat 38, Hectorstraat 27 apt. II. In 1945 Henri Broekman lived at Parsevalstr. 35 in Wuppertal, at least he died there. Afterwards Auguste Weber moves first to the Baarsjesweg, and after that (20 Jun 1949) to Geleen.6,7
Henri and his son Marinus both died on 1 Jan 1945 of a skull fracture after a fall. Wupperthal was severely bombed by the Allies that day, so it seems likely that this is where they died. It is possible they were members of the NSB (National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands, or a similar organization; according to Han his mother told him, they didn't want to call him Mar, as some one in the family with that name was a member of the NSB.5,8
