Geert Rave was born on 8 Nov 1865 in Nieuwe Pekela.1,2 He died on 12 Jul 1956 in Ashland County, Wisconsin.3
Other information: He moved on 19 Jun 1884 to Veendam.1,4 Geert immigrated on 31 Mar 1890 on the Maasdam to New York City. He is 23 yo, farmer, going to Pattersonville, IA, traveling third class, and has one piece of luggage.5 He was naturalized on 22 Oct 1900 in the Criminal Court.6
In Jan 1906 three ads are published in the Winschoter Courant (hereafter WC), from which it appears that Geert Rave is responsible for 1/8 of a loan, that was made on 6 Jan 1859 (WC 12 Jan 1906) (maybe by his grandmother Margien de Lange). Geert is in America, without known domicile. Three days later a house and yard in Nieuwe Pekela, cadastre section F #994 is garnished, measuring 15 are, 20 centiare (1520 m2), owned by Geert Rave and others, to be sold (WC 16 jan 1906). The third ad is to appoint a notary for the sale (WC 26 jan 1906). Then on 31 Jan 1906 is announced that the house and yard, property of Adam Hindriks Rave c.s. will be sold on 17 Mar 1906 (WC 31 Jan 1906); but the sale gets cancelled (WC 17 Mar 1906.)7
The parcel F994 is located on the road from Wildervank to Pekela, along the Pekelderdiep. In 1966 and 1989 it was split in two (F1277 and F1278). In 1832 it was F108 (a house) and F109 (land). Later it became H768, and after that H 796 (was: 1278) and H 797 (was: 1277). The present address is H.B. Hulsmanstraat I 20a and I 21.8

George is 64, John is 72, both b. in Holland, both were Farmer/laborer. George immigrated in 1888, John in 1889, both are naturalised. Both were working the day before the enumeration.10
