Derk Meerstadt was born on 8 Mar 1873 in Zutphen.3 He married Johanna Hendrika van Hoogerwou (She was b. 13 Jan 1890 in Amsterdam.)4
Derk Meerstadt had at least three sons and a daughter: Peter Hermanus Albertus, b. 26 Apr 1911 in Eindhoven; Willem, b. 13 mei 1913; Clasina, b. 7 okt 1914; en Bart, b. 3 Jan 1916, all in Tongelre, N. Brabant.4,5 He died on 23 Jan 1951 in Antwerpen.6
Other information: His telephone number in 1915 was 251 at address Villapark. The cigar plant in Woensel had #211.7
Gerrit Gast and Derk Meerstadt, the brother of his sister-in-law owned a sigar manufacturing business. Later Gerrit continues the business on his own, but he declared bankcuptcy on 17 Jun 1928.
Derk Meerstadt was b 1921 the co-owner/ cassier/accountant of the cigar factory. He absconded with the money to Belgium in Eindhoven.2
The family moved on 9 July 1912 to Tongelre, and on 6 June 1918 to Oisterwijk.5

1. Gerrit Gast producer of cigars, living in Eindhoven, and
2. Derk Meerstadt producer of cigars, then living in Eindhoven, presently in Brasschaet (Belgium), incorporated on 10 Jan 1905 before Notaris J.J.Fens in Eindhoven.
The business of the dissolved partnership is assigned to undersigned, Gerrit Gast, who continues the firm D.Meerstadt & Co. on his own.1,8
