     Josiah Beardsley was born in Feb 1756.2 He married Abigail Bulkley on 28 Jan 1779 at Fairfield, Connecticut,1,3, and was buried in the Prentiss Cemetery at Butternuts.2 He died on 6 Aug 1842 in Butternuts, Otsego County, New York.1,3

Josiah Beardsley made a will on 27 Aug 1828. He lists his wife Abigail Bulkley, and his children Eli, Daniel, Robert, Buckley, Sally, Abby, and Fanny. It was proved 26 Dec 1842. At that time Daniel was of Butternuts; Abby, wife of James Merrick, of Butternuts; Eli of Litchfield, CT; Sally, wife of Daniel Curtis, of Fairfield, CT; Fanny, wife of James Bedient, of Wayne County, PA; Buckley of Wayne County, PA; Robert was deceased, leaving six children, five of whom were minors.1
