Other information:
Three websites Tom Rave, Geert Orsel, and J.C. Thepass have Auke's parents as Joest Rave and Hillechien Nanninga/Nannens; Joest's parents are Berent Rave and Aeltje Hermans; Berents parents are listed as Joest Rave of Bielefeld and Frerick Gerts. These websites list no real sources.
While this might well be true, I find it strange that Joest and Hillechien's other four children are listed in the baptismal records of Groningen, Mensingeweer, and Winschoten, Auke does not have a baptism, and most people squish him between two baptisms in 1681 and 1683, which seems unlikely.
Auke's first child is baptized in 1708, so he must be born before 1688. His first child is named after his mother's father, not his father's, which might mean there is a child before that. Auke does not name a child Joest or Hillechien after his parents, and why is he Auke Harms, if his father is Joest; should he not have the patronymic Joests?
While I have no problems with the genealogy from Auke down, I find the link to Joest Rave improbable. The family does not use the surname Rave until the start of the Civil Registration in 1811, to me it seems a stretch to link it to Rave 120 yrs earlier. Of course, I have only seen, what is in allegroningers, but the online websites do not give me any citations.
If anyone knows more, please let me know.
