The Ancestors of My Grandchildren

     Aeltie Joris was born in 1617 in Amsterdam.² Aeltie was baptized (NH) on 14 Mar 1617 in the Nieuwe Kerk, at Amsterdam. Sponsor was Hilletje Jans.³ She married Jan Dircks^2,4 (banns 10 Apr 1638, Amsterdam. His witness was Abraham Jorisse, hers Aertgen Pieterse.)²

Other information:

     The banns registration was hard to read, Jan was not from Amsterdam, but place of origin unclear, and his age was either not listed or unreadable. Aeltie was 21 yrs old, and from Amsterdam, making the baptism probable, also because the mother is Hendrikje, and Aeltie's 2nd daughter is Hendrikje. Unfortunately Aeltie's parents have no other children baptized in Amsterdam. As sponsor at Joris' baptism is a Lijsbet Claes, and in 1634 Abraham Joriss, 22 yr old, from Amsterdam, married Lijsbeth Claes, also from Amsterdam, also 22 yrs old. Abraham states his parents are dead. While there is a baptism for a Abraham, son of Joris Benner(last name is Becker, Bellaer(t) Belle, and Heller) en Fem Augustijnss (also variations) in 1612, the parents are different thn Aeltie's.⁵
