     Hendrick Jansen was born in Brooklyn.2 Hendrick was baptized (DRC) on 29 Apr 1694 at Brooklyn. Sponsors were Hendrick Klaessen and Lummitje Klaesse.1 He married (DRC) Aaltje Staats in Oct 1719 at Flatbush2 (banns (DRC) 12 Sep 1719, Flatbush.)2

Other information:

     They moved to Franklin Twp., Somerset Co. NJ. Their first two children were baptised at the New Brunswick Reformed Dutch Church and the last four were baptised at the 1st Reformed Church, Raritan (Somerville NJ). A 1784 will recorded in Somerset Co. NJ for a Hendrick BLAW mentions wife, Catrin.
If this will belongs to this Hendrick, he had a second marriage.3
Hendrick Jansen and Aaltje Staats had at least 8 and possibly 9 children: Antje (bap. 25 Nov 1722 at New Brunswick NJ), Abraham (bap. 20 Sep 1724 at New Brunswick NJ), Johannes (1724-1818, m. 1757 Catherine Van Doren (1740-1794+)), Peter (1725-1811, m. Marya/Maria Humphrey), Aeltje (bp.1728, m. Deneys Hegeman(b. ca 1725)), Elsie (1729-1776, m. Eldred Smith), Marya (bap. 1734, m. ? Hoagland), Deyna V. Dervere (bap.1737, m. ? Williamson). In addition to the preceding children, one reference lists Guetye (b. ca 1731).3
     On 3 Nov 1790 a Hendk. and John Blaw signed a petition to the Council, etc., from the inhabitants of Somerset County approving of the application to build a toll bridge over the Raritan River at New Brunswick. They provide advantages for building it on the Somerset County side (Record Group: Legislature, pet. re Bridges, Canals, Dams, Ferries and Roads, 1765-1835. NJ State Archives, box 1, # 107, pg. 2, entry #1 and 24.)4
