     Derk was from Scheemda at his marriage.1 He married Lisabeth Pieters, daughter of Peter Zijtses and Grietjen Sjuirts, on 13 Jun 1728 at Scheemda1 (banns (NH) 30 May 1728, Scheemda, listed between 10 Feb and 25 Apr)1 Note with this marriage: with cert. from Dr. Uchtman. The church council prohibited the declaration of the banns, because it was unseemly that an old man should marry such a young girl, and both had nothing, so it could be expected that they would become a burden for the church (Banns later posted.)1

Other information:

     In view of the note at the marriage, Derk is not the son of Harmen Derx and Wupke Hindrix, who was baptized in Scheemda on 13 Oct 1704, as he was only 24 yrs old at marriage. A Derk, son of Harmen Harmens and Etje Harmens is baptised in Groningen in 1668, who would make a good candidate, esp. as Derk named a daughter Ettje (and he had no daughter Wupke.)2
