     Joseph Ashley was born on 6 Jul 1652 in Springfield, Massachusetts.1 He married Mary Parson on 16 Oct 1685 at Springfield.2 He died on 18 May 1698 in West Springfield, Massachusetts.2

     Because of his liaison with Deborah Miller, he was summoned before the court. He was ordered to pay 2s 6d a week for child support until the son was 5 years old. At that point he had to pay £5 to apprentice him to some trade. This nearly caused a divorce between him and his wife.3
