John Blanford and Dorothy had several children born to them in Sudbury, but no Mary. Possibly Mary is from a first marriage, or there is another John.5
     A John Blanford is listed as a passenger on the ship "Confidence" sailing from Southampton, England on 24 Apr 1638. He is 27 yr old, a servant of Walter Hayne, of Sutton Mandifield in the County of Wilts, linnen weaver. However, apparently a servant was not necessary a servant. Most of the people on the list show up also in the Sudbury Vital Records.6,5
     A John Blandford, John Parmenter Sr., John Parmenter Jr., and Widow Wright are listed among the early grantees and settlers who went to Sudbury Plantation in 1638/397 A John Blanford was in 1655 appointed surveyor of fences "of the field and the cornfield of the other side of the pond to the training place."8 A John Blanford claimed £10.- damages in 1676 (King Philip's war)9 A John Blanford received three acres Sudbury, Massachusetts, bounded north by the highway to the river. It was the first lot on the street that started at Watertown (now Weston). The last lot on this side was the lot of John Parmenter Sr., 4 acres, bounded south by the highway to Bridle Point. John Parmenter Sr. and John Parmenter Jr. had a lot (4 acres) on the Bridle Point Highway. John Parmenter Sr. also had a lot of 4 acres on Pine Plain. Widow Wright had six acres close to John Parmenter Sr.10
