     Johannis Ryker was born on 10 Sep 1741.2 Johannis was baptized (DRC) on 17 Sep 1741 at Acquackanonck, New Jersey. Sponsors were Isaak van Nes and Neeltje van Nes.3 He (1) married Leah Ryker, daughter of Abraham Rycke and Aaltje Smith.2 He (2) married Catherine.4 He died on 20 Jun 1809.2 He was buried in the Van Ness Graveyard at Fairfield at Essex County.2

John Riker made a will on 1 Jun 1808. It mentioned his wife Catherine, his son Isaac Riker, and his daughters Helena Kerstead, Sally Zeluff and Lydia Van Riper. Isaac's son John Riker and two of his sisters Leah and Sally are also mentioned. Isaac Riker and John's three sons-in-law John Kerstead, Peter Zeluff and Peter Van Riper are appointed executors.5,6 He lived at that time in Caldwell Township.5 His will was probated on 3 Jul 1809.4

Johannis Ryker was the first one to settle in the area of the hamlet of Singac in the far NW corner of Little Falls Township, where he owned most of the land.7 His son Isaac later had an inn there.8
