     Samuel Boldrey was born on 7 Jun 1792 in New York. According to the 1880 census, he was born in Vermont, and his wife in NY. There is no Boldry (any spelling) born in VT in any census after 1850.3,4,2 He (1) married Elizabeth Ann Bentley on 14 Nov 1816.2 He (2) married Mary Sanders on 28 Feb 1828 at Ripley County, Indiana.2,5 He (3) married Eliza Ann German on 12 Aug 1840 at Ripley County, Indiana.2,5,3 He died b 1884 in Ripley County, Indiana.6

Other information:

     Samuel bought on 2 Sep 1834 40 acres of land in Ripley County, located at "the North East quarter of the South East quarter of Section 31 in Township 9N, of Range 13E, 2nd PM, in the District of Lands for sale at Jeffersonville, IN7" Samuel bought 40 acres more on 15 Mar 1837, located in Ripley County at "the South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section 31 in Township 9N, of Range 13E, 2nd PM, in the District of Lands for sale at Jeffersonville, IN.8"
     Riel Boldrey was administrator of Samuel Boldrey's estate. Samuel received a pension payment of $125 in 1884.6
     No Boldrey born in Vermont in 1850 and up census. The fact that John lived in Vermont, may have contributed to the notion that Samuel was born there.

1810 Fed. census (6 Aug): Household of Jno. Boldery, Honeoye, Ontario County, New York. Samuel Boldrey was probably included in the Free Males 16-25 years of age.10
1820 Fed. census (7 Aug): Household of Samuel Boldrey, Manchester, Dearborn County, Indiana. Household consists of 1 male 26-45 (prob. Samuel), 1 female 16-26 (prob. his 1st wife Elizabeth Ann), and 1 male and 1 female <10 (prob. Louisa and John.)11
1830 Fed. census (1 Jun): Household of Samuel Boldrey, Ripley County, Indiana. Household consists of 1 male 30-40 (prob. Samuel) and 1 female 20-30 (prob. his 2nd wife Mary), 2 males <5, 1 male and 1 female 5-10 (prob. Elizabeth and James), 1 male 70-80 (prob. John), 1 female 10-15 (prob. Louisa), and 1 female 15-20.12

Eliza Ann and John, but they were not married yet on 1 June), 1 male <5 (prob. Samuel), 1 male and 2 females 5-10 (Sanford and Hannah (and ?)) , 1 male 15-20 (prob. James), 1 male 20-30 (prob. Eliza Ann and John), 1 male 80-90, (John), a veteran, 1 female <5, and 1 female 10-15 (Elizabeth?)1
