     James Watson was born in 1836 in New York. 45,6 He (1) married Celia.7 He (2) married Jennie L. Adams Wallace on 12 May 1886 at Manhattan.8 They were married in the Cornell Memorial Methodist Church.1 He died on 24 Oct 18969, and was buried in the Fairmount Cemetery at Newark.9

Other information:

James Watson was a clerk (1870), a cabinetmaker (1880), a conductor (1886.)5,6,8 He lived at the time of his second marriage 1626 2nd Ave at Manhattan.1 He lived with Samuel E. Riker and Charles Watson c 1881 in Manhattan.10
     There seem to be two James Watsons in Hancock; ours moved to NYC before 1870.
1855 Hancock: James(1) is enumerated with his parents John and Eliza, and as a servant, both as 19 yrs old, born New York City
1860 Hancock: James(1) is 24 yrs old, born in Ireland, Catherine is 20 yrs old, born in NY, children Charles and Anne E; James(2) 26 yrs old, born in Ireland, Cecelia 25 yrs old, born in Ireland, daughter Mary. James(2) cannot read or write
1865 Hancock: James(2) is 35, Selia 32, children all born in Delaware County
1870 NYC: James(1) and Cecelia both born in NY; Hancock: James(2) and Celia both born in Ireland
1875 Hancock: James(2) and Celia both 45, born in Ireland, MaryAnn in PA, Edward in Delaware County, and Kate in Ulster County
1880 NYC: James(1) and Celia both born in NY, James(1) parents born in Scotland; 1880 Hancock: James(2) and Celia both born in Ireland. James(2) cannot read or write. Our James and Catherine/Celia can read and write in 1880, the other one cannot. As both John and Eliza Watson can also read/write in the 1850/1855/1860 census, it seems to make sense that they are the parents of our James.

1880 Fed. census (1 Jun): Household of James Watson, 91 Perry Street, Manhattan, New York County, New York. Household consists of James, his wife Celia and their children Charles, Joseph and Annie E., and Annie's husband and daughter Samuel E. Riker and Isabelle Riker.6

1895 New Jersey census: Household of James Watson, Ward 11, Newark, Essex County. Household consists of James, his wife Jennie and his wife Jennie L., William Wallace and Samuel Wallace (both 20-60), George Wallace and Jennie Wallace (both 5-20), and James (5-20). James and Jennie were both 20-60.15
