He is my son-in-law&#8217;s 19th great-grand-uncle. He died in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marshfield,_Massachusetts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marshfield, MA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All five sons of Edward Winslow came to Massachussetts, the eldest, Edward, on the &#8216;Mayflower&#8217; together with his brother Gilbert; the second, John (my son-in-law&#8217;s ancestor), on the &#8216;Fortune,&#8217; Kenelm and Josiah in 1631 on an unknown ship. All except Edward married in Plymouth<\/p>\n<p>Josiah married Margaret Bourne, and had six children.<\/p>\n<p>My son-in-law has quite a few Mayflower passengers in his genealogy. <a href=\"http:\/\/dutchgenie.net\/family\/family-e-o\/p851.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomas Rogers<\/a> came on the Mayflower, but his son John (the direct ancestor) came later; Edward Winslow came on the Mayflower, his brother John (the direct ancestor) came later; John&#8217;s wife Mary Chilton and father-in-law <a href=\"http:\/\/dutchgenie.net\/family\/family-e-o\/p4928.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Chilton<\/a> did both come on the Mayflower; Experience Mitchell (the direct ancestor) and his wife Jane Cooke came on the Anne, but his father-in-law\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dutchgenie.net\/family\/family-e-o\/p4932.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francis Cooke<\/a> came on the Mayflower.<\/p>\n<p>In view of recent political debates about immigration: these are the first instances of chain migration.
