He and grandma traveled a number of times to and from Holland. In March 1907 they send a postcard from Suez to her brother <a href=\"http:\/\/dutchgenie.net\/family\/family-e-o\/p9206.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Herman Voss\u00a0(<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/dutchgenie.net\/family\/family-d-o\/p9206.htm\" target=\"_blank\">dutch link<\/a>)\u00a0in Julich. It must have been quite a trip with a three year old. I am sure that they had reasonable accommodations, he was a manager at a sugar plantation. They traveled from Amsterdam (leaving 23 Feb 1907) first to Southampton, then (with possible stops in between) to Genoa, and from there through the Suez Canal to Java.
