This church had its "ups" and "downs". It seemed more "downs".
The writing was often difficult to read.
The moving of the Erie Terminus to Jersey City was a blow to
all of Piermont, and this church seemed never to have fully
recovered. It dissolved in 1900, but from 1839 to 1900, many
people passed through its doors.
According to the records, there was a cemetery behind the
church - no list of those interred in it.
February 27, 1845 The Burying Ground to be enclosed.
March 8, 1856 Those having friends interred in the ground
rear of the Church to remove them as soon as weather permits.
Application to be made to the Middletown (Pearl River)
Church for a plot of ground to inter the bodies that remain
unclaimed.
July 18, 1859 Paid H. H. Cooper $5.00 for removing bodies
from the Church Yard.
All the information listed above is taken from handwritten
records in the Rockland folder at the Bergen Historical
Society and dated July 1980, Beatrice Johnson
