     Elsjen ter Steeg was from in Amsterdam at her marriage.2 She (1) married Johannes van Somerwil2 (banns 20 Oct 1770, Almelo.)2 She (2) married (NH) Derk Cuiper, son of Gerrit Kuijper and Willemijne Kramer, on 14 Nov 1770 in Almelo.4,2 She died b 14 Jan 1799, because her will is probated.5

Elsjen ter Steeg with her guardian Dr. E. Dull made a will on 31 May 1783. She names as sole heir her 5 stepchildren, namely Gerrit Kuiper, Wessel Kuiper, Willemina Kuiper, Fenneken Kuiper, and Swaantjen Kuiper. She leaves in advance to her stepdaughter Willemina Kuiper, because of her faithful service, the store and goods, with the profits and debts, as they will be at her death. Also her own bed and belongings, tablecloths, curtains, etc. She leaves her nephew Abraham Villele 2 rings, one with diamonds. To her niece Catharina Villele a blue-flowered silk dress, a white silk-damast skirt, and a red chintz skirt. To her niece Elisabeth Molenaar a green checked silk dress and a green-flowered silk skirt. To the children of Derk Meier's widow 4 daily skirts and jackets, and the leftover clothes. Testatrix wishes that any she will still inherit from family will go back to the heirs of the family from which it came.1
Elsjen ter Steeg with her guardian Secr. D. J. Lamberts made a will on 16 Jun 1785. She was widow of the late Derk Kuiper. She rescinds all her previous wills, and names as sole heirs her 5 stepchildren Gerrit Kuiper, Wessel Kuiper, Willemina Kuiper, Femmetje Kuiper, and Zwaantje Kuijper. Because of her faithful service, her stepdaughter Willemina Kuiper will receive the store with everything in it. Willemina will also receive the bed, in which testatrix sleeps, with an underbed, bolster, 8 pillows, 2 cotton and 2 woollen blankets, 4 sheets, 8 pillowcases, with the curtains, 2 large tablecloths, and the windowcurtains. Willemina Kuiper will get the house in which testatrix lives, on the condition that she pays her 2 brothers and 2 sisters each ƒ100.- and 2 nickels. Her nephew Abraham Villele will get a stoepring and a pinkie ring with diamants, her niece Catharina Vilelle a blue silk dress with flowers, a white sil skirt, a red skirt, a white dress, and 2 morselline skirts with small stripes. Her niece Elizabeth Molenaar gets a green silk dress with diamonds, and a green silk skirt with flowers. The 4 children of Derk Meijer' widow get together ƒ100.- . Her 3 stepdaughters Willemina Kuiper, Femmetje Kuiper, ad Zwaantje Kuijper will get all her other clothes. Her stepson Gerrit Kuiper's child, Elsje Kuiper, will get the silver bag clasp, because she is named after testatrix. Testatrix wishes that all inheritances that she might still get, will revert to the next-of-kin.4
Elsjen ter Steeg and Derk Koenen with her guardian G. J. Troost made a will on 18 Apr 1796. They are resp. widow and widower of Derk Cuiper and Willemina Kuiper. Testatrix rescinds all her previous wills, and names as sole heir Derk Koenen , or if he dies first, and has remarried, his wife or children. Testator rescinds his previous will, and names Elsjen ter Steeg as sole heir, unless he has remarried, or has no children. If testator dies before testatrix, and his mother Aale Koenen is still living, she will get her legal portion.5 Elsjen ter Steeg's estate was probated on 14 Jan 1799. Derk Koenen and Wessel Kuiper were present.5
