     Jennichjen Derks was born c 1763 in Hellendoorn.3 She married Jan Willem Smit, son of Derk Hendriksen and Janna Nijkamp,4 (banns (Gericht) 9 Oct 1795, Stad Almelo.)1 She died on 15 Feb 1823 at Boomshoek (wijk 2), house #74 in Ambt Almelo. Jan van de Riet and Jannes Boom were the witnesses.3,6

She lived at the time of her marriage on the Rot under in Ommen.1 Her parents were Derk Harms and Ebbe Hendriks. (He died before 1795.)1
