She was baptized (Doopsgez.) on 1 Feb 1733 in Almelo by Ds. J. Mol.2,8 She was mentioned in the will of Jan Schimmelpennink Janszn on 24 Jun 1757.3 She was mentioned in the will of Gerrit ten Cate on 23 Mar 1762.9 She presented Gerrit ten Cate's will for probate on 28 Nov 1768.1
Catharina ten Cate and Elisabeth ten Cate with her guardian Dr. E. Dull made a will on 3 Jul 1795. They name each other as heir. After the death of the survivor, they name as heirs their 2 nieces Aleida ten Cate and Johanna ten Cate, and their 2 nephews Lambertus ten Cate and his wife Elisabeth Coster, and Jan ten Cate Janszn and his wife Wilhelmina Henrietta Louise Dietzel, or if they predecease them, their children. They leave the children of Isaac ten Cate ƒ2000.-, with the proviso that Isaac ten Cate as long as he lives, will receive the 3% interest on this capital. They leave their nieces their furniture and clothes, except the silver, gold, and bed- and table linens. They are allowed to live for the rest of their lives in her house, and use her other properties. They also are allowed to use the grave in the Church, # 40, but this cannot be opened until 20 years after the death of the survivor. After the death of the nieces, the inheritance will go to the nephews. They leave the NH Parish of Almelo ƒ300.-. The survivor has the right to change the will.4
