     Johan Meijer was born c 15914,2 (On 28 Apr 1656 Jan Meijer declares he is between 60 and 70 yrs old, and his daughter Fenne is married to Geert ten Bruggencate.)2,4 He married Jenneken Schulten b 1619.5,6 He died bet 6 Apr 1670 - 20 Jun 1670, because he makes a will on 6 Apr, and on 20 Jun Enneke wants her share.1,7

Johan Meijer was bet 1659 - 1663 a council member of Stad Almelo.8,9,1
A militia was establish in Stad Almelo in 1663. It is not clear why. The officers of the first company were ao Jan Bulk, captain, Berent Hagedoorn, and Jan Meijer, lieutenant, although all of them were rather old. Ensigns Geert Hendriks Bulk and Jan Prinsen could be sons of Hendrik Gerritsen Bolk.10
Johan Meijer made a will on 6 Apr 1670. He leaves to Enneken ten Bruggencate, daughter of Geert ten Bruggencate half the garden, situated behind the Cloister along the road, because of faithful service, and f. 20.-. Testator wishes that his grandchildren, namely Jan and Jenneken each will get f. 20.-, and the other half of the garden, together with the children of Harmen Schuijtemaacker. He leaves his house to his son-in-law Geert ten Bruggencate and his wife, because of services provided to him in his old age. He leaves to Fenneken Meier, daughter of the late Harmen Meier, the bed and dresser in the house of the widow of Harmen Meier.1,11
Acc. to Bert van Es and Malherbe Johan Meijer's will mentions "his grandchildren Jan and Jenneke receive 20 gld, and the children of Harmen Schuitemaker get the other half of the garden."11,3

Johan Meijer, and his wife Jenneken Schulten took out a mortgage with Swenne Winhoff, wife of Hendrik Krull the elder.12

Stad Almelo, 20 Jun 1670:
Anna Garrits ten Bruggencate says that her grandfather, the late Jan Meijer, had left her in his will half a garden, located in Almelo. She want her part.13
