Gerrit Slaghuis was born on 23 Mar 1804 in Almelo.1,3 He was baptized (NH) on 25 Mar 1804 in Almelo.1 He married Janna Heilenhuis, daughter of Hendrik Heilenhuis and Berendina Grobben, on 17 Aug 1832 in Ambt Almelo2,3 (banns 29 Jul 1832, Ambt Almelo.)2 He died on 27 May 1848 at Schelfhorst in Ambt Almelo. Gerrit Jan Slaghuis and Arend Velten were the witnesses.3

This was part of a series of epidemics, that ravaged the population between 1832 and 1866.
