  • Jan can not be the same person as Joannes Henrixsen Knoef. Jan Knoef was a widower in 1748, Joannes Henrixsen Knoef's wife Joanna te Wierik could be a sponsor at the baptism of her grandson in 1764. Only Jan Knoef's son Henrik lives with him in the census, but he is 22 yrs old. Joannes Henrixsen Knoef's son Hendrik would have been 26 yrs old, and was married before 1748.
     Jan Knoef died on 12 Jan 1793 in Almelo.2
