     Ernst Nijhoff was born in Almelo.2 He was baptized (NH) on 14 Oct 1768 in Almelo.1 He married Hendrica Kuijper, daughter of Willem Kuijper and Judith Bolk.2,3 He died on 22 Aug 1828 at Groote Straat, house #103 in Stad Almelo. Derk Koenen and Jurjan Fikkert were the witnesses.2

He was storekeeper.2 He and Anthony ten Cate, Albertus Mollink, Mattheus Nijhoff, Wolter Hagedoorn, Lambertus ten Bruggencate, Arend Bootsveld and Jan Pesie were invited 8 Jan 1817 by Jacobus van Riemsdijk to come to townhall for an important matter, namely to help with a committee to help the poor.4
